STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford shortstop Kenny Diekroeger was named first team academic all-district on Thursday and now is eligible to be considered for Academic All-America consideration.
The Cardinal's starting infielder in each of the last two seasons, carries a 3.68 cumulative GPA. He joins Cal pitcher Dixon Anderson (3.61 GPA) and ASU players Andy Workman (3.94 GPA) adn Joey DeMichele (3.35 GPA) as Pac-10 players on the all-district first team.
Diekroeger was a preseason All-American after leading the Cardinal in hitting and in RBIs in 2010. He comes into the weekend series with Washington with a .308 average with 22 RBIs and 23 runs.
