STANFORD, Calif. – Alana Cook, Jordan DiBiasi, Tegan McGrady and Michelle Xiao were named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region teams, as announced Tuesday.
Stanford's four student-athletes on the All-West teams were the most of any school – only two other student-athletes from the Pac-12 conference made the list.
Cook, a science, technology and society major from Far Hills, New Jersey, was Stanford's representative on the second team with DiBiasi, McGrady and Xiao earning places on the third team. A team captain, Cook played nearly every minute of the season at center back while earning a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention and a place on the All-Pac-12 first team.
Xiao, the recipient of the NCAA Elite 90 Award for highest grade-point average at the College Cup, adds to her long list of academic accolades. A biomechanical engineering major, Xiao was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic first team, and joined Christen Press, Kelley O'Hara and Teresa Noyola as the programs only CoSIDA All-Academic first teamers. She also scored eight goals with six assists in 22 appearances.
McGrady, a communication major from nearby San Jose, California, capped a strong season with two assists in Stanford's 2-0 win over South Carolina in the College Cup final. She was named a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention for the second time, and was selected to the All-Pac-12 second team.
DiBiasi, who majors in science, technology and society, is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention, and earned a place on the College Cup All-Tournament team with two goals in the semifinal. A member of the All-Pac-12 second team, DiBiasi set career highs with nine goals and 10 assists, including a team-high six game winners.
