Two Cardinal Inked on Signing Day

Stanford adds Kaila Elsayegh and Anna Song on National Signing Day

STANFORD, Calif. — Top-ranked Stanford women’s golf was active on National Signing Day, adding to the future of a program that is at the top of the golf world. The defending national champions added a pair of highly touted recruits for next year’s roster in the form of Kaila Elsayegh and Anna Song. The Southern California natives will join a very young Stanford roster that is already full of depth, one that has The Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women’s Golf Anne Walker very excited.

“Anna and Kaila are long-time friends,” Coach Walker explains. “They are looking forward to shaping the culture of Stanford golf together and contributing to the tradition and excellence of the program.”

Cardinal fans can read up on the newest members of Stanford women’s golf below:

KAILA ELSAYEGH – Pacific Palisades, Calif.

A Pacific Palisades native, Kaila Elsayegh is set to make the trek to the Bay Area and brings a wealth of success from the greater Los Angeles area. With her senior season still on deck, Elsayegh has already won MVP honors of the Angelus League three times. Ranked as the No. 18 prospect in the Class of 2025 by Junior Golf Scoreboard, she advanced to the state championship in 2023 and finished tied for first at the CIF/SCGA championship.

No stranger to success at the amateur level, Elsayegh competed at the USGA Girls Championship in 2022 and 2024, advancing to match play in both years. She also took home the championship at the 2023 AJGA Open and has a pair of top-10 finishes at the SCGA Junior Amateur Championship in 2023 (4th) and 2024 (T-8th).

A one-time basketball prospect, Elsayegh hopes to be a political science major at Stanford.

“I first met Kaila at our junior golf camp several years ago. Her fluid swing, positive energy, and mature presence made an impression on me. When the opportunity arose to add her to our roster, we jumped at it. Her game is strong and has room to grow. We are excited about what the future has in store for Kaila.” – Coach Walker

ANNA SONG – Los Angeles, Calif.

Another Southern California native, Anna Song, heads north to join Elsayegh on The Farm. A four-year league champion in the CIF Southern Section, she has also been the league’s Player of the Year three times en route to a pair of CIF State Championship appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2023. In the long, prestigious history of the Los Angeles City Section, she is one of two golfers to win the section three times in her career.

Song is ranked No. 14 in the prospect class of 2025 by Junior Golf Scoreboard thanks to a lengthy list of accolades. She was a member of the PING Junior Solheim Cup in 2023 and a Second Team Junior All-America selection. Song also took home championships at the 2023 Fortinet Girl’s Invitational and the 2024 Southern California Junior Amateur.

Coming from a basketball-heavy family where three of her cousins played collegiate basketball, Song hopes to major in economics at Stanford.

“Anna has a strong history of success in both SCGA junior golf and AJGA national golf. She is loved by all constituents and is on track to be a terrific teammate and contributor here for Stanford women’s golf. We are thankful that she chose Stanford as her home.” – Coach Walker
