STANFORD, Calif. - For a school-record ninth consecutive season, Stanford will play in a postseason football bowl game.

The Cardinal (9-4) will face TCU (10-3) in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28 in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. (PT), and ESPN will broadcast the game nationally.

The bowl appearance will be the 29th for No. 15 Stanford -- and first in the Alamo Bowl -- which enters the game after winning the Pac-12 North Division. Stanford traveled to Texas last season for the Sun Bowl, a 25-23 Cardinal win over North Carolina in El Paso.

A victory would give Stanford a seventh 10-win season in the past eight years, and sixth under head coach David Shaw.

Stanford and TCU met in 2007 and 2008, with the Horned Frogs winning both games.

Ticket information can be found at GoStanford.com/BowlCentral (ticket information tab). Fans can request to sit in Stanford's sections. All bowl ticket requests will be fulfilled in priority order based on Stanford affiliation.
