All-Academic Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Marcus Allen, junior Dorian Pickens and sophomore Cameron Walker were named to the Pac-12 Men's Basketball All-Academic Teams, Commissioner Larry Scott announced.

Allen and Pickens were recognized by the conference for the second consecutive year, while Walker earns all-academic laurels for the first time.

Pickens, who owns a 3.38 cumulative grade-point average in communication, was named to the five-member Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. He joins Washington State's Josh Hawkinson as the conference's only two repeat first-team honorees.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Pickens was the lone Cardinal to start all 31 games this season. He finished the year second on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg) and led Stanford in three-point field goals (67) and three-point field goal percentage (39.6). The junior ranks ninth and 13th in the Pac-12 in those categories, respectively.

Allen, a psychology major, completed his Stanford career with 847 points in 128 career games. He ranked fourth on the team with an 8.2 ppg scoring average this season. The guard totaled 121 career steals, tied with Mitch Johnson (2005-09) for 11th on the Cardinal's all-time list. Allen ranked 11th in the Pac-12 in steals (1.3 spg) overall, and fifth in steals during conference play (1.6 spg). His 50 steals this season was tied with Chasson Randle (2014-15) and Andrew Vlahov (1989-90) for 12th on Stanford's single-season steals chart.

Walker, who has yet to declare a major, played in 14 games during his second season on The Farm. He totaled four points, three rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes at No. 4 UCLA in January. Walker posted a season-best three assists and collected a season-high four rebounds in the win over CSUN in November.

Stanford has produced 68 all-time All-Academic selections, the most of any conference school since the inception of the award in 1985-86. Washington State ranks second, having totaled 36 honorees. The Cardinal has been recognized with at least three members on the conference's all-academic squads in seven of the past eight years.

Stanford concluded its season 14-17 overall in its first season under the direction of head coach Jerod Haase. The Cardinal returns four starters and five of its top six scorers, as well as its top four rebounders from this season on the 2017-18 squad.
