EUGENE, Ore. - No. 7 Stanford ended its weekend series on a winning note, coming from behind to defeat No. 20 Oregon, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Jane Sanders Stadium.

Senior Alana Vawter (11-1) started in the circle and picked up the win for Stanford (24-3, 2-1 Pac-12). The right-hander threw her eighth complete game of the season, giving up two runs on seven hits, allowing no walks and striking out three.

Junior Aly Kaneshiro led the way offensively for the Cardinal, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Senior Kaitlyn Lim and freshman River Mahler contributed two hits apiece, with Lim scoring the game-winning run in the sixth inning. Senior Taylor Gindlesperger added her second triple of the series, while Stanford out-hit the Ducks at the plate by a 0-to-7 margin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks scored the first two runs of the game, but Stanford rallied to tie the game in the fifth inning with a pair of runs. Gindlesperger scored first on a wild pitch, while Kaneshiro singled home Mahler to close the frame

The Cardinal took the lead in the sixth with an RBI single off the bat of senior Emily Young, which brought the score to 3-2 in favor of the Cardinal. The score remained 3-2 for the rest of the game, as Stanford held on for the win.

» Stanford's highest scoring inning was the fifth, when it pushed two runs across.

Stanford returns to The Farm on Friday, March 24 to begin a three-game series with Oregon State. All three games will air on Pac-12 Networks.
