CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After helping Stanford to a road sweep of UCLA and USC, Samir Banerjee and Henry von der Schulenburg have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week.
The duo went 2-0 on the weekend – their first playing together this season – with wins over the second pairs from USC and UCLA. First, the duo posted a 6-4 win over USC’s pair of Morazzi and Trouve, helping Stanford to an eventual 4-2 win over the Trojans. They followed up the performance 24 hours later with a win over the nation’s No. 10 ranked pair, UCLA’s tandem of Hoogmartens and Tripathi, 7-5. The Cardinal swept the 25th-ranked Bruins, 4-0.
Stanford is off to a 5-1 start on the season, including four consecutive wins away from home. The Cardinal entered the weekend matchups at No. 13 in the ITA Coaches Poll.
Stanford returns to action in Waco, Texas at the ITA Indoor National Championships. Matchups for the event will be revealed in the buildup to the tournament.
