STANFORD, Calif. – Led by four-time selection Kevin Rakestraw, five members of the Stanford men's volleyball team earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic accolades, the league announced today.
Joining Rakestraw (computer science – 3.62) on the all-academic team was senior Evan Enriques (science, technology and society – 3.14), junior Russell Dervay (computer science – 3.05) and sophomores Eric Beatty (3.07) and Jacob Theonen (3.35). The group was recognized for their combined work athletically and in the classroom.
Grand Canyon led the conference with eight honorees, while the Cardinal tied Pepperdine for the second-most in the league.
To be eligible, students must have a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically and have spent at least one academic year at the institution and must have competed in fifty percent of their team's competition this season.
