Snoey Earns MPSF Honor

Named Offensive Player of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. – Outside hitter Theo Snoey has been selected the Offensive Player of the Week in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) for the first time in his career, the league announced today.

Snoey led Stanford offensively as it split a pair of matches at No. 4 Hawaii, averaging 4.67 kills on .349 hitting, 0.44 aces, 0.56 blocks and 5.39 points per set. The Cardinal handed the Rainbow Warriors their first loss of the season on Friday.

On Wednesday, Snoey recorded a then season-high 19 kills on .350 hitting, two aces, nine digs and two blocks as the Cardinal fell 16-14 in the fifth set. On Friday, he followed up with a career-high 23 kills on a .349 attack percentage, two aces, six digs and three blocks as Stanford won in four sets. It was the first Cardinal win in Honolulu since 2013 and snapped a 12-match losing streak to the Rainbow Warriors.

Stanford is back in action on Saturday as is hosts The Master’s University in Maples Pavilion. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on B1G+.
