Offensive Improvement » Stanford batters have seen a marked improvement in nearly every notable offensive category from last season to now. Included in the improvement are program records in runs, home runs, batting average and slugging percentage.

Runs: 309 → 356* OBP: .364 → .444 HRs: 56 → 84* SLG%: .438 → .648* BA: .273 → .354*

Power Surge » The Cardinal has hit with record-breaking power in 2025. The team's 86 home runs in 45 games are the most in a season in program history. Last season, in 57 games, Stanford hit 56 then the second-most in a season in program history.

The home run total and per-game average are both in the top six in the NCAA, and the second-best in the ACC. The 86 homers have come from 12 different players, including

first-career home runs from River Mahler and Ella Murchison. Taryn Kern leads the team with 18 long balls on the season, one shy of a single-season program record.

Taryn it up at the Plate » Kern has been crushing at the plate in her second season on The Farm, leading the team in home runs (18) and slugging percentage (.835).

The home run total is the 13th-best in the country, and third-best in the ACC. The Cardinal's leadoff hitter, Kern leads the team in runs scored (52), as well as total bases (111). Kern's 18 home runs are the second-most by a Cardinal batter in program history, and the most in a season since 2008. The slugging percentage is good for the second-best in the ACC, and 3rd in the NCAA.

Running Past The Competition » Junior Emily Jones has been on a tear all season, leading the team with a .460 batting average.

The batting average is the second-best in the ACC, and 12th in the NCAA. In 45 games this season, Jones has posted 19 multi-hit games. Jones has scored 51 runs this season, the second-most on the team. Jones has added the long ball to her arsenal this season – her eight home runs are the fifth-most on the team and a new career high. Jones' 64 hits and .519 OBP on the year each lead the team and are in the top eight in the ACC.

RBI Machine » Sophomore Jade Berry has become the first Cardinal hitter to drive in 50+ runs in a season since 2015, leading the team in RBI with 51.

The total is just two shy of the 9th-most in a season in program history. Berry is slashing .333/.418/.704 on the year with a 1.121 OPS. The sophomore is second on the team with 12 home runs, passing her season total from 2024 (seven in 67 games). The total is already blown past her mark from last season (38) which was the second most on the team.

Ice Cold River » Junior River Mahler is second on the team with 44 RBI this season, posting a career year thanks to timely hitting. With runners on base, Mahler is 42-for-92 on the season for a .457 average, including a .459 clip (28-for-61) with runners in scoring position.

Mahler's .421 batting average is the ninth-best in the ACC. Mahler's 44 RBI on the season are already a new career high in just 44 games.

They've Been in the Weight Room » The season's power surge at the plate includes career years from players from up and down the lineup. Jones, Mahler, junior Kyra Chan and senior Allie Clements have each hit more home runs in 2025 than in all of their previous seasons combined.

Proven power hitters from 2024 have seen an uptick as well: Kern (7 → 18), Berry (7 → 12) and Chung (0 → 3) have all upped their home run total from 2024 as well.

Player                                      Career total entering '25 (games)      2025 season total (games)

Kyra Chan                            1 (86)                                                                            9 (45)

Emily Jones                        2 (111)                                                                        8 (45)

River Mahler                      0 (128)                                                                        8 (44)

Allie Clements                3 (86)                                                                            5 (41)

On Pace for History » Three Cardinal hitters are currently on pace to re-write the program top-10 lists for batting average and slugging percentage.

Jones and Mahler both have current batting averages that are good to put them squarely in the top 10, becoming the first Stanford hitter(s) to bat over .400 in a season since 2015. Kern and Mahler are both on pace to edit the program's slugging percentage list as well. That list has not been altered since 2015.

Small Sample Size, Big Bats » Freshman Sydney Boulaphinh and senior Kylie Chung have both taken advantage of opportunities at the plate this season.

Boulaphinh, in just 44 at bats, is slugging .727 with six home runs. Chung, with 47 at bats, has gone yard three times and has posted a .468/.500/.723 slash line.
