Revuelta Leads Charge at Augusta

Two Stanford golfers finish top-10 at Augusta National Women's Amateur

ANWA Leaderboard Opens in a new window

AUGUSTA, Ga. — There’s nothing like a sunny afternoon at Augusta National. That’s what six Stanford golfers were treated to on Saturday after advancing to the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the most golfers from one school in the finals. Multiple Cardinal put themselves in a position to win after two rounds, but a pair of top-10 finishes were in order after the final putt was made.

All week long, freshman Andrea Revuelta was impressive. She was under par in each of the first two rounds at Champions Retreat and entered the day just one stroke behind the lead. Revuelta endured a rocky start, with two bogeys in her first five holes, but settled into the round and was able to shoot 1-under on the back nine to finish even at part with a 72. Her 208 for the week put her in a tie for fourth, best amongst her teammates. To show how competitive this field was, Revuelta’s 208 would have won three of the previous five ANWA events.

Megha Ganne was the talk of Augusta after her record-setting 63 in the opening round on Wednesday. After shooting a 73 on Thursday to put her one stroke off the lead, she backed it up with another 1-over 73 on Saturday, finishing in a tie for seventh, her second top-10 ANWA finish (2023 – T9). 2025 marked the third year in a row Ganne made the final round, and her 73 was the lowest round she’s shot at Augusta National.

The best round of the day by a Cardinal came from Kelly Xu, who had the first tee time of 8:00 am ET. She was the lone Cardinal to finish Saturday under par, shooting a 1-under 71 in her first official round at Augusta National after missing the cut last year. Xu ended her front nine strong with a pair of birdies and ended the day well with a great birdie putt on 18 to get her under par. Only eight of the 32 golfers in the field finished under par on Saturday. Xu finished tied for 16th overall.

Meja Örtengren finished tied for 14th after posting a 4-over 76. Paula Martín Sampedro tied for 18th with a 2-over 74 on Saturday, and Nora Sundberg tied for 22nd after matching Martín Sampedro with a 74. All six Cardinal golfers finished at par or better over three rounds.

Carla Bernat Escuder of Kansas State won the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, finishing the week 12-under and capping off her performance with her third-straight 4-under 68. 16-year-old Asterisk Talley finished second at 11-under, and the 2024 ANWA champion Lottie Woad of Florida State finished third at 9-under.

This group of Stanford golfers will not compete again as a team until the 2025 ACC Championship on April 16-19 in Greensboro, N.C. This will be Stanford golf’s first crack at an ACC title. The Cardinal will enter the postseason as defending conference champions, however, having won the final Pac-12 championship in 2024. Two individuals will compete in the Silverado Showdown in Napa on April 7-9.
