STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 15 Cardinal wrapped up the 2025 home slate today with a 10-2 run-rule win over Santa Clara. Kyra Chan’s two-run double in the sixth walked it off for Stanford, pushing the Card to 36-10 on the year and 22-4 at Stanford Stadium
The Broncos took the lead in the third inning, plating a pair of runs to go ahead 2-0.
After managing just four hits in the first four innings, Stanford’s offensive answer came in the bottom of the fifth. The Card struck for five runs with two outs in the inning. River Mahler drove in a run on an RBI fielder’s choice, then Chan and Joie Economides each picked up two-run singles to make it 5-2.
Five more came around to score in the bottom of the sixth. Mahler singled in a run to make it 6-2, then Jade Berry singled to drive in two more and make it 8-2. Berry’s two RBI brought her season total to 53, tying her for the ninth-most in a season in program history.
Then with the game-ending run on second base, Chan kept the train moving and doubled to plate two. Her third and fourth RBI of the day brought the score to 10-2 and walked off the game.
Sophomore Alyssa Houston earned the win, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings to move to 13-1 on the year. Senior Kylie Chung got the start in the circle, going 4.1 innings and allowing just two runs on four hits.
The Cardinal is on the road this weekend, closing out the 2025 regular season with a three-game series at Boston College. The ACC series starts at 1:00 p.m. PT on Friday – the series opener will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, with Saturday and Sunday’s games on ACC Network.
