2011-12: Part of a conference-first, six league titles during academic year, as Buckstaff won the team racing PCCSC title in the spring... sailed at the team national championships in Austin, where the Cardinal finished eighth... finished third by going a combined 21-9 at the St. Mary's College of Maryland team race in March... crewed five events, winning the PCCSC Fall Championship with Mateo Vargas... sailed to a second place showing at the 83rd Boston Dinghy Cup with Vargas... also fourth at the Navy Women's Regatta in March with Molly McKinney as skipper.
2010-11: Skippered three regattas, all in the B Division, while racing four times ... came in fourth at North #1 on Feb. 12, winning the division ... placed seventh overall two weeks in a row in October, at Stoney Burke and the Navy Fall Women's.
Prior to Stanford: Sailed for the Redwood High Sailing team, winning back-to-back NorCal Championships in 2009 and 2010... also won the 2010 Team Racing NorCal Championship... twice awarded the Top RHS Sailing Skipper Award her junior and senior seasons... as a junior was named the team's most improved sailor, the Bob and Bettie Potter Award... the San Francisco Yacht Club awarded her the top 420 Skipper award in 2008 and the Sportsmanship award in 2007... competed for the U.S. At the 2007 Optimist British Nationals... member of the track, cross country and dance teams at Redwood high.
Personal: Daughter of Daniel and Kathleen Buckstaff... has two younger brothers, Scott and Williams... major is undecided... father, Daniel, was an All-American skipper on the Stanford sailing team and mother, Kathleen, was an All-American crew member, also at Stanford.
