- Won the 2012 USATF Youth National championship at 173-7.
- Exceeded that mark at the 2012 USATF Junior Olympics, with a personal-record throw of 183-1¼ to place sixth.
- Showed his talent on USATF youth competition with the Walton Youth Track Club because there is no javelin in Georgia high school track and field.
- Traveled to Finland in the summer of 2013 with seven other elite high school throwers to train with Finnish national coaches as part of the Kultan Keihas project.
