STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford lightweight rowing is back on home waters, welcoming Boston University to the Bay Area on Sunday, April 27.

LAST TIME OUT » The Stanford lights hosted its first race day of the spring on Saturday afternoon, as the third-ranked varsity eight boat tallied a victory over the Badgers. The 8+ boat crossed the finish line at 6:47.94, coming in 17.88 seconds ahead of Wisconsin (7:05.82). Competition began with the varsity four as Wisconsin secured the victory with a time of 7:49.92, followed by a 7:59.61 time from the Cardinal four. The Badgers also won the double by clocking an 8:03.12, 19 seconds ahead of Stanford (8:22.12).

Freshman Campbell McClellan made her collegiate debut in the no. 1 seat, joining a boat that included all four returners from last season’s champion varsity 4+ boat.

RESURGENCE AT IRA'S » Stanford's varsity 4+ boat took home a national championship last June, part of a Cardinal effort that finished second in the Commissioner's Cup standings at the IRA Championships. Four of the five members of the 4+ boat return for the 2024-25 season.

ALL-AMERICAN RETURNER » Sophomore Grace Padula is back after a breakout fall campaign, earning CRCA All-American honors in her first season on The Farm.

YEAR TWO FOR HOUSTON » Lizzy Houston enters her second season at the helm of the Cardinal lights, looking to build on last season's success. Stanford came within a point of Princeton for the top spot in fall's Commissioner's Cup standings.
