General: Could battle for playing time as the team's designated hitter, especially against lefthanded pitching • May also be one of the team's top right-handed bats off the bench if he's not being used at designated hitter • A strong and muscular power hitter with a nice swing that makes the ball jump off his bat • A hard-working and dedicated player • Continues to improve behind the plate and can also play in the outfield.

High School: A 2003 graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School • A four-time All-North Bergen Interscholastic Athletic League selection • Selected twice to the First Team All-State squad by the Associated Press, as well as to the All-North Jersey and All-Bergen County battery (2002, '03) • Hit .420 with four home runs and 21 RBI as a senior, after batting .476 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI in his junior campaign • Hit a pair of home runs in a state playoff game as a junior • Threw out 37 runners during his sophomore season • Compiled a career .437 batting average with 24 homers and 127 RBI to go with 101 runners thrown out • Led his team to the 2002 NBIAL title • Also played two years on the football team and three years on the basketball squad • Graduated with a 3.97 GPA • A member of the National Honor Society • Coached in baseball by Troy Lederman and Bob Williams.

Other Amateur Baseball: Saw limited action with the Holyoke Giants of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2004, playing in 17 games with 16 starts and hitting .173 with three RBI as the team was 17-25 • Played two summers for the Bergen Saints (2001, '02) under Coach Garret Teel • Spent the summer of 2000 playing for the Allendale Connie Mack team.
