Stanford plays host to the 29th Payton Jordan Invitational on Friday at Cobb Track and Angell Field

Live Results Meet Schedule

STANFORD, Calif. – The 29th Payton Jordan Invitational takes place Friday at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Events begin at 4 p.m., with distance races beginning at 6:30 p.m. A recognition for Stanford seniors precedes the meet, at 3:15 p.m.

Among Stanford’s scheduled entries is sprinter Sydney Barta, a 2021 U.S. Paralympian, who would be making her collegiate debut. Barta, a junior in her first season on the team, is entered in the 100 and 200 meters. Barta competes with a prosthetic left leg. She set an American record of 26.87 for T64 while placing fourth in the 200 at the Tokyo Paralympics, a record that still stands.

Stanford sophomore Emma Sralla is scheduled to make her home debut. The 2022 world under-20 discus champion for Sweden, Sralla made her first collegiate appearance on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays, placing eighth in the elite field while entering Stanford’s all-time top-10 list at No. 10 at 173-8 (52.94).

Double Atlantic Coast Conference indoor champion Alyssa Jones focuses on the high jump. She was an NCAA indoor qualifier in the high jump and long jump, winning both events at the ACC Championships on the way to being named Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet.

Defending NCAA outdoor champion Juliette Whittaker, a 2024 Olympic 800 finalist, is scheduled to race in the 1,500.

The Payton Jordan Invitational, named after the longtime Stanford coach, takes place in a key qualifying window for the NCAA West Prelims, which takes the top 48 in each event (and 24 in relays) and is the qualifying meet for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
