STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford football led the conference with 41 Pac-12 All-Academic honorees, including a league-best seven first-team recipients and six second-team selections.
Senior Brian Chaffin (3.65 GPA, science, technology and society), sophomore Drew Dalman (3.65, undeclared), senior Nick Wilson (3.63, mechanical engineering), senior Dylan Jackson (3.30, political science), senior Casey Toohill (3.67, political science), sophomore Noah Williams (3.84, undeclared) and junior Richard McNitzky (3.72, political science) earned first-team recognition. Wilson and Jackson earned their third first-team honor, while Toohill garnered first-team honors for the second straight year.
Senior Jesse Burkett (3.49, Japanese), junior Devery Hamilton (3.42, communication and psychology), junior Dylan Powell (3.50 communication), senior Sean Barton (3.48, international relations), senior Frank Buncom (3.29, human biology) and junior Jet Toner (3.57, science, technology and society) were the second-team recipients.
Stanford's honorable mention honorees included Joey Alfieri, Malik Antoine, Jake Bailey, Treyjohn Butler, K.J. Stanford (8-4, 6-3 Pac-12) will take on Pitt (7-6, 6-2 ACC) in the Hyundai Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. PT and the game can be seen on CBS.
