Wertz to Worlds

PRINCETON, N.J. – Stanford junior Brennan Wertz was named to the USRowing Under 23 national team this week, and will compete in the U23 World Championships in Poznan Poland July 25-29.
 
Wertz, from Mill Valley, California, is the 24th Cardinal to compete as a member of the U23 USRowing national team since 2002. Stanford has had a representative at the international competition in each of the last 14 years.
 
Occupying the bow position in the Men's Eight, Wertz is joined by other collegiate rowers from Washington, Cornell and Drexel.
 
The U.S. will have 22 crews competing at the five-day event. Events include the men's and women's single sculls, lightweight single sculls, double sculls, lightweight double sculls, quadruple sculls, lightweight quadruple sculls, pair, lightweight pair, four, four with coxswain, and eight.
