Eight Straight

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 35 Stanford extended its unbeaten streak to eight matches, blanking UC Santa Barbara 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Navigating through a seven-match homestand, Stanford (8-0, 4-0 Pac-12) produced its fourth shutout of the season while taking a quick break from conference play.

After claiming the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, Michaela Gordon and Emma Higuchi put the Cardinal on the brink of clinching with dominant straight-set victories.

Emily Arbuthnott made it official, winning 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.

Stanford has won 74 of its last 78 matches at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Next up for the Cardinal is a contest against No. 47 Washington State on Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m.
