No. 3 Seed

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford has qualified for the NCAA Championships and will compete in the second of two qualifying sessions conducted Friday, April 16, at Maturi Sports Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

The Cardinal earned the No. 3 seed overall based on national qualifying scores, entering the meet with a 409.400 score. Stanford will be grouped with No. 2 Michigan (411.525), No. 6 Penn State (401.213), No. 7 Iowa (399.300), No. 10 Minnesota (393.450) and No. 11 California (387.513). The second session is set to begin at 5 p.m. PT.

Friday's other session will feature No. 1 Oklahoma (412.300), No. 4 Nebraska (403.850), No. 5 Ohio State (401.888), No. 8 Illinois (398.438), No. 9 Navy (396.600) and No. 12 William & Mary (384.713).

The top three teams and the top three all-around competitors not on one of the qualifying teams, plus the top three individuals on each event not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor, will advance from each qualifying session to the finals, scheduled for 5 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 17.

The Cardinal has captured six NCAA titles, and is the reigning NCAA Champion after most recently taking home the hardware in 2019. Stanford won the title in 2019 with a team score of 415.222 points. Oklahoma took runner-up honors with 414.556 points, while Nebraska placed third with 407.489 points. There was no championship in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
