Professional Baseball Career - Signed a professional baseball contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks' organization in the summer of 2003 after being selected in the first round (29th pick overall) of the 2003 MLB First-Year Player Draft ... The 14th Stanford player in the last 17 years chosen in the first round of the draft ... Did not play in the summer of 2003 due to elbow surgery following the end of the 2003 collegiate season but is expected to return to the field to make his professional debut in 2004.
