STANFORD, Calif.-- Based on its three wins and two second place finishes, over five regional regattas, Stanford Sailing is the top seed out of the North for the Western Dinghy Semifinals starting on May 1-2.
Stanford is joined in the North by Cal Maritime Academy, who won the other two regional regattas, Cal Poly, UC Davis and California. In the South, UC Santa Barbara won the overall four-regatta championship series, followed by USC, UC Irvine, UCLA and UC San Diego.
Stanford finished with a low of seven points, both UCSB and USC in the South had nine points. The Dinghy Semifinals will take place in Seattle on May 1 and 2, with the Dinghy Nationals taking place in Madison, Wisc. On June 1-3.
The postseason begins for Stanford this weekend when it hosts the team conference championships at its Redwood City Shores facility on Saturday and Sunday.
