McKinney Battling for Top-Five Spot After Second Day of Singlehandeds

TAMPA, Fla.-- Molly McKinney (sixth) and Sally Mace (ninth) remained in the upper half of the Singlehanded National Championships, while Oliver Toole dropped to 11th after the second of three days of sailing.

With weather in the upper 50s and low 60s with an eight mile wind out of the North, McKinney never finished lower than eighth over the nine races on day two. Overall McKinney has 88 points over 14 races, finishing in the upper half of the 18 boats in all but one race. McKinney enters the final day, five points out of the top-five and 10 out of fourth.

Mace, the Pacific Coast Conference Champion, is ninth with 137 points. Mace on day two finished in the top-nine in seven of nine races.

Toole dropped two spots on day two, finishing in the top-nine only three times on day two, finishing with 159 points.

In PCCSC Team Racing at Santa Barbara, the Cardinal are in first place after the first of two days, winning all four of its races on a light day of sailing on the Central Coast.
