STANFORD, Calif. - The 18th-ranked Cardinal continues its conference slate this weekend, first traveling to face rival Cal on Friday at 6 p.m. before returning home to host Pacific on Sunday at 12 p.m.
Last Week with Stanford Field Hockey
• No. 18 Stanford opened up its conference slate last week as it toppled UC Davis 1-0 in a double OT thriller. Nina Randolph claimed the game-winner for her second career goal, while Stanford outshot the Aggies 25-4.
Varsity Spells Victory
• Most teams like to play at home in the comfy confines of their own stadium. The Cardinal LOVES Varsity Turf. Under head coach Tara Danielson, Stanford has a home record of 47-11 - an incredible 81% winning percentage.
Speak softly and carry a...
• The Cardinal will lock horns with rival Cal on Friday for the 108th time in program history. For now, the Bears own a 52-50-5 record on the Cardinal. Per usual though, under Danielson Stanford is an unreal 12-3.
Lions and TIGERS and... well, Bears
• Against the Pacific Tigers, Danielson has dominated as well - holding a 10-1 record against them. Of those ten wins? Half were shutouts.
The Tigers aren't just some sleepy kitties though as they've put up a 9-3 record and are currently ranked first in the NCAA in Assists Per Game (5.75) and Goals Per Game (5.67).
