TEMPE, Ariz. – Stanford men's tennis continued its perfect month of March, downing Arizona State, 4-0. The Cardinal improves to 11-4 this season and remains atop the Pac-12 table at 3-0 in conference play.
Stanford won the doubles point with wins on courts one and three to take an early lead in the match. Samir Banerjee and Nishesh Basavareddy rolled to a 6-2 win on court two, while Kyle Kang and Neel Rajesh rallied for a 7-5 victory on court three to give the Cardinal the edge.
The Cardinal won five of six first sets, and closed out the match with three straight-set victories. Neel Rajesh picked up his 10th win of the season, and moved to 8-1 in dual play, with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court five, while Max Basing was close behind with his ninth win, both on the season and in dual action, on court three, 6-4, 7-6 (3). Hudson Rivera closed the match in his own tiebreaker, going 6-3, 7-6 (6) on court six for his 10th win of the campaign.
Stanford returns to action on Saturday, March 30 against No. 7 Arizona. The first serves are set for 2:30 p.m.
