STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford hits the road for the first time this season on Saturday, Jan. 25, heading to Norton, Mass., for the first of two trips this season to take on Wheaton College (MA).

The Cardinal heads into the weekend’s meet following a season-opening win over defending national champion Incarnate World last Saturday, taking down the Cardinals at Belardi Pool inside Avery Aquatics Center with a 64-54 result.

Young talent provided the lone event win during the afternoon for the Cardinal as 2024 USA Olympic silver medalist Megumi Field teamed up with fellow first year and Junior World Champion Dalia Ovadia to capture the duet title. Field and Ovadia also claimed third in the trio alongside fellow rookie and 2024 Team USA Olympic silver medalist Audrey Kwon

Stanford relied on its experience in the remaining events with senior Lindi Schroeder and junior Yara Elian - who were part of Stanford’s national team event championship squad last season - teaming up with freshman Calista Liu to take second in the trio.

Fifth-year senior Emmanuella Tchakmakjian provided a solid outing in the solo portion of the afternoon with the four-time individual national champion taking second.

Head coach Megan Abarca and the Cardinal continue its road stretch in February, beginning the month in Columbus, Ohio, for the Jessica Beck Invitational on Feb. 1 before a return trip to Norton, Mass., on Feb. 15-16 for the MPSF Championships as Stanford will look for its fourth consecutive conference crown. The Cardinal has captured all three MPSF titles since the conference began sponsoring artistic swimming in 2022.
