Men's Volleyball Downs San Diego State, 3-1

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford men's volleyball team posted its third consecutive victory as the Cardinal defeated San Diego State in four games tonight at the Peterson Gym in San Diego. Game scores were 16-14, 15-10, 14-16 and 15-12.

Career highs were abundant as four Cardinal attackers posted personal bests in kills. Senior outside hitter Patrick Klein reached 43, while also posting a career-high .423 hitting percentage. Sophomore middle blocker Brett Youngberg notched 27 kills, while junior outside hitter Josh Palacios reached 20 and freshman outside hitter Marcus Skacel added 10. Stanford did have a fifth attacker post double-digits in kills, as sophomore middle blocker Dan Zhang registered 12. Skacel and sophomore setter Josh Lukens posted 13 digs each to lead the defensive efforts, while Youngberg recorded a team-high eight blocks.

Stanford improves to 7-8, 5-8 in the MPSF. San Diego State falls to 1-12, 0-11 in league play.

Stanford will return home for a rematch vs. San Diego State on March 27 at 3 p.m.
