STANFORD, Calif. The ninth-ranked Stanford men's volleyball team fell to No. 11 Loyola Marymount in three games tonight at Gersten Pavilion in Los Angeles. The Lions had five players post double figures in kills and outblocked the Cardinal 12-5 en route to a 15-6, 15-10, 15-11 sweep of Stanford.
The Cardinal had defeated LMU twice earlier in the season, but played tonight without middle blocker Jeremy Bart, who is out injured.
Stanfords Gabe Gardner led all attackers with 23 kills, while teammate Patrick Klein added 15 kills in the losing effort.
Stanford falls to 4-5 overall, 3-5 in the MPSF. The Lions improve to 3-5, 2-4 in league action.
The Cardinal will face Pepperdine on Sat., Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. then return home to host USC and Long Beach State Feb. 25 and 26, respectively. Both of those matches will begin at 7 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion.
