STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's tennis team, ranked fifth by the ITA, swept its fourth opponent in five days, as Santa Clara fell this afternoon 9-0, at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Stanford improves to 6-0 in dual-match action, 3-0 in the Pac-10. Santa Clara evened its record at 2-2 overall.
Junior Teryn Ashley and freshman Marissa Irvin did not compete, as they are resting for the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships this weekend in Dallas Texas. Both will compete in the singles and doubles draws.The team will be back in action next Tuesday, Feb. 9 vs. Fresno State. The Bulldogs feature 17th-ranked Dora Djilinova in their lineup. The match will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
