Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Shawna Feldt had two RBI to lift the No. 11 Oregon State softball team to a 4-2 victory over No. 15 Stanford in the opening game of a Pacific-10 doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, but the Cardinal came back to win the second game, 2-1.

The Beavers (42-23, 12-14 Pac-10) were hitless until striking in the bottom of the third in the first game. Heather Chinn led off the inning with a base hit to left field and went to second on Parisa Plant's sacrifice bunt. Chinn advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored when Feldt singled to right field. Brooke Rutschman and Jodi Chmielewski followed Feldt's hit up with back-to-back singles of their own to load the bases. Tarrah Beyster walked to bring in a run, and Jenni Jodoin then grounded out to third base but Rutschman was able to score.

OSU added its fourth run in the following inning when Tasha Heddinger pinch ran for Courtney Stewart, who led off the inning with a base hit. Heddinger moved to second on Chinn's sacrifice bunt, went to third on Plant's grounder to first base and scored on Feldt's second hit of the game.

The Cardinal (40-21, 10-16) managed to avoid the shutout by scoring two runs in the seventh inning. With two outs and runners on second and third, Tarrah Beyster threw a wild pitch that allowed Michele Acosta to score. Beyster went to cover the plate, but Kelli Kranz's throw was off and Ramona Shelburne scored Stanford's second run.

Beyster took the win to improve to 26-10 on the season. She gave up five hits to go along with four strikeouts. Marcy Crouch allowed eight Beaver hits, walked four and struck out three as just dropped to 21-11 with the loss.

OSU's offense struggled in the second game. Stanford pitcher Becky Blevins limited the Beavers to just one hit, a pinch hit single by Kim Herman in the fourth inning that allowed Michelle Notaro to score OSU's only run of the game.

Stanford jumped ahead early, scoring a run in both the first and second inning. The Cardinal had three hits in the first two innings and just two the rest of the game.

The Beavers threatened in the fourth but left the bases loaded after scoring just one run. Blevins walked three straight batters to load the bases before Chinn hit into a fielder's choice that got Chmielewski out at home. Herman came in to pinch hit, got the base hit and RBI to keep the bases loaded with two outs before Traci Feldt grounded out to Blevins to end the inning.

Blevins upped her record to 19-10 while throwing the one-hitter. She walked six Beavers and struck out eight. Crystal Draper threw a four-hitter but dropped to 16-13 with the loss. Tarrah Beyster pitched 0.1 inning to end the game.
