Softball Squad Blanks Auburn, 9-0

FULLERTON, Calif - Words cannot possibly describe the accomplishments thatStanford pitcher Marcy Crouch has acheived over the past week. Over her pasttwo games, Crouch has faced 30 batters and all 30 of them have been retired.To keep it short, Couch has been perfect. She was perfect again today as sheretired all 15 of Auburn's batters on the way to her second consecutivefive-inning perfect game as Stanford defeated the Tigers 9-0. Last Sunday(Feb. 28), Crouch tossed a five inning perfect game as the Cardinal beatSouth Carolina 8-0.

The pitching performance of Crouch over shadowed the performance ofStanford third baseman Shane Anderson. Anderson hit two home runs, includinga grand slam in the top of the fifth, as she had six RBI for the game.

With the victory, Stanford moves to 15-4 over all and 2-0 in the CalState Fullerton Easton Showcase Classic. Auburn drops to 11-7-1 overall and1-0 in the tournament. The Cardinal's next game in the tournament willSaturday, March 6 at 10:00 am when the team plays Northwestern.
