Men's Golf Tied For Fifth After First Day of Nelson Tournament

Stanford, Calif. - The men's golf team is hosting the Nelson Invitational this weekend at the Stanford Golf Course. This three day event hosts 20 teams from around the nation, including No. 1 Northwestern and No. 5 Arizona State.

After the first round, Colorado State leads with a round of 284 and Colorado and Northwestern are tied for second with 285. Stanford is tied for fifth with a round of 287.

Sophomore transfer Philip Rowe and junior Jimmy Lee lead the Cardinal tied for 15th after posting a first round score of 71. Junior Alex Aragon is tied for 26th with 72, team captain Dusty Brett is tied for 36th place with a round of 73 and junior Eric Dahlberg is tied for 48th with a score of 74.

The second round will be played Saturday, and the final round will be played Sunday, Oct. 31.
