STANFORD, Calif. - Sean Joy scored a career-high five points to lead the top-ranked Stanford water polo team to a 12-8 victory over seventh-ranked Pepperdine in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game on Saturday at deGuerre Pool.

Joy helped key a second period Cardinal rally as the senior scored three times, incluidng a two-point goal with 1:08 left. That turned a 3-2 Pepperdine lead into a 7-4 Cardinal lead at halftime.

Brian Heifferon added three goals as Stanford upped its season record to 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the MPSF. Greg Lonzo led the Waves with five points. Pepperdine, however, fell to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in league.
