Crew Squads Finish Second At Head Of The American Regatta

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford men's and women's varsity crews each walked away with second-place finishes on Saturday, October 30 at the Head of the American Regatta on Lake Natoma in Sacramento, California. The men's and women's varsity teams split its squads for the day and competed with even "A" and "B" boats.

In the Women's Open 8+ event, Stanford "A" crossed the finish line of the three-mile course in 17:46 to place second behind San Diego State University. The Stanford "B" boat finished fourth with a final time of 17:52. Also, the Cardinal women competed in the Women's Open 4+ where they finished fourth with a time of 19:33.

The Stanford "B" boat finished second in the Men's Open 8+ competition with a time of 15:41. Sacramento State finished first and the Stanford "A" boat was fourth in 15:51. The novice men received their first taste of intercollegiate competition and finished fourth and seventh with "A" and "B" boats in the Men's Novice Collegiate 8+.
