STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford men's and women's varsity crew teams finished fifth and ninth respectively Sunday at the Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle, Washington. A three-hour fog delay nearly cancelled the race on the Montlake Cut.
In the Men's Open Eight race, Stanford crossed the finish line with a final time of 16:18.32. The Cardinal men finished behind first-place Washington, University of Victoria, Oregon State, and the VT Rowing Club.
Stanford finished ninth in the Women's Open Eight competition behind the US National Team and a group of Pac-10 schools. The final time for the Stanford women was 18:23.99.
Stanford also entered boats in the men's and women's second varsity races. The men finished sixth with a time of 17:26 and the women finished seventh.
Stanford will conclude its Fall Racing schedule next weekend when it competes at the Bair Island Regatta in Foster City.
