No. 11 Men's Golf in Fifth After First Day of the PING/Arizona Intercollegiate

Tucson, Ariz. - The Stanford men's golf team is in fifth place after the first day of the PING/Arizona Intercollegiate with an 11 over par total of 579. This two day event hosts 19 colleges from around the country, including seven top-25 ranked teams. After two rounds, the host, Arizona, leads the field with a score of 562, six under par. USC is in second, followed by New Mexico and Arizona State.

Stanford is led by senior captain Dusty Brett leads the Cardinal with an even par total of 142 after shooting rounds of 72 and 70. Freshman Ron Won and junior Alex Aragon are tied at 25th with a score of 145. Junior Jimmy Lee is tied for 48th place with rounds of 74 and 75 for a total of 149, and sophomore transfer Philip Rowe is tied at 56th with a score of 150. Sophomore K.C. Yasmer is tied for 84th place with a score of 155.

The final round of the PING/Arizona Intercollegiate will be played Tuesday, Feb. 2.
