Men's Golf in 18th Place After First Day of Waikoloa Intercollegiate

Hilo, HI - The Stanford men's golf team is tied for 18th place coming into the second day of play in the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate. The Cardinal shot a round of 299 on the Waikoloa King's Course, which has a par of 72. The leader of the tournament, Texas, shot a first round of 278 on the par-70 Waikoloa Beach Course.

Philip Rowe leads the Cardinal in Hawaii. Tied for eighth place, Rowe shot a first round of 71, one under par. Senior Dusty Brett is tied for 62nd with a round of 75, and junior Jimmy Lee is tied for 76th place after carding a first round of 76. Junior Alex Aragon is tied for 87th place with a round of 77, and Hawaii native freshman Jim Seki is tied for 115th with a round of 84.

Stanford will play the second round of the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate at the Waikoloa Beach golf course, which is a par-70 course, on Saturday, Feb. 18.
