Stanford Men's Gymnastics Split Three-Way Meet

Berkeley, Calif. -- The Stanford men's gymnastics team split a three-way meet, defeating BYU 223.050-to-218.200 before falling to California which scored a 228.600, tonight in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation meet in Berkeley. The Cardinal are now 5-6 (5-6) MPSF this season and 2-3 away from their home gym.

The Cardinal received outstanding performances on the floor exercise from Brandon Berkenbile (9.500) and Ricardo Andrade (9.350), both gymnasts set season-high marks in the event. Stanford gymnast Jason Katsampes also reached season-highs in the meet, scoring 9.750 on the pommel horse and a 9.950 on the rings.

Stanford's Cade Raggio led the team on the parallel bars with an impressive 9.700, the best mark for him this season.

California's Cody Moore scored a 57.000 to win the all-around competition. The Cardinal fell to 0-4 against the Golden Bears this season, while improving to 1-1 against the Cougars. Stanford and Cal will meet again on March 4 at Burnham Pavilion beginning at 7:00 p.m.
