Stanford Women's Lacrosse Sticks Cal

STANFORD, Calif. - The Cardinal defeated Bay Area rival California-Berkeley tonight 6-3 in the rain. Stanford came out to dominate in the second-half with sophomore Caroline Osterwise scoring 2 goals and goalkeeper Rachael Neumann recording 5 saves and allowing no goals. The Cardinal is now 1-1 for the season and against opponents in the Western Women's Lacrosse League. After winning the league last year head coach Heidi Connor Igoe, in her 4th year, is looking to make another strong run.

On the game, newcomer Rachael Neumann had 7 saves in goal and five different Stanford players added goals. The Cardinal tallied 21 shots and caused 3 turnovers on defense.

Next Saturday, March 4 the team takes on St. Mary's College and Regis College at home, in a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.
