STANFORD, CALIF. -- The Stanford women played a tough game against Cornell, losing 16-5 at Maloney Field. The Cardinal came out stronger in the second half, scoring four goals to Cornell's seven, but they were overcome by stiff competition from the Big Red. A very physical match-up, five yellow cards and one red card were handed out, the red card to Stanford sophomore Caroline Osterwise.

Senior Hedy Born led the team scoring two goals, while sophomores Emily Rodriguez and Sara Lev, along with junior Katharine Barnes each added one goal. Freshman Rachael Neumann had 16 saves in goal along with eight clears. The team is now 4-2 on the season.

The Cardinal heads east for spring break to take on four competitive, non-league opponents. The first game is at Bucknell, at 6:00pm on March 20.
