Stanford Women's Lacrosse Snaps Three Game Skid

March 23, 2000

The Stanford Women's Lacrosse team snapped their three-game skid on Thursday, March 23 when the Cardinal defeated Ohio University 17-8. The Cardinal fell to Bucknell and Johns Hopkins University in the first two games of the east coast swing.

Senior Hedy Born led the Cardinal to victory, scoring three goals against Ohio in the first half of the game. Her three goals helped Stanford build a 9-2 lead at the half. In the first ten minutes of play, the Cardinal had a 7-0 run to put the team on track to take its first game of the east coast swing.

Other Stanford scorers included Liz Britt, Jennifer Silverman, Katharine Barnes, Kim Cahill and Caroline Osterwise with two goals each. Liz Lanese, Sarah Lev, Lauren Dietrich and Dana Katter each contributed one goal.

The Cardinal will remain on the east coast to take on Brown University before returning home.
