Men's Crew Sweeps Sacramento State

Stanford, CA - The Stanford men's crew team remained undefeated in 2000 as they swept Sacramento State on Saturday, March 25 in Rancho Cordova, CA. Stanford's varsity eight, junior varsity eight, and novice four rowed to first-place finishes on Lake Natoma's Pac-10 Championship course.

Saturday marked the third meeting this school year between the varsity eight's of Stanford and Sacramento State. The schools split their two races during the 1999 head racing season. On Saturday, the Cardinal eight rowed confidently to a three-second victory over the Hornets. Stanford crossed the finish line in 5:59 and Sacramento State followed in 6:02.

In the men's junior varsity eight, Stanford defeated Sacramento State 6:10 to 6:31. Stanford's novice eight finished second in the same race with a time of 6:12.7. The Stanford novice four concluded the Cardinal sweep as the A and B boats finished in 7:08 and 7:14, respectively. Sacramento State was third in 7:24.
