Stanford women's water polo driver Margie Dingeldein was named MPSF First-Team All-Conference. Julie Gardner, Kris Koblik and Jackie Frank earned Second-Team All-Conference honors.
Sophomore Margie Dingeldein earned First-Team accolades after turning in a solid performance at the MPSF Championships. Dingeldein leads the Cardinal in scoring, with 48 on the season. She scored 10 goals during the Conference Championships, including a team-high four in the 9-6 win over San Diego State. Dingeldein has scored in 21 of the team's 26 games, and has recorded multiple goals in 16 of them. She was named MPSF Player of the Week for the week of March 6 and was named tournament MVP at the Aloha Classic, where she scored seven goals to lead the team to a first-place tournament finish.
Freshman Julie Gardner has made an immediate impact on the team, scoring 45 goals so far this season, which is second best on the team. Gardner was honored as a Second-Team All-Conference selection after scoring 13 goals in the MPSF Tournament. She scored multiple goals in all five games of the Tournament, including two in the 6-4 win over Cal in the Championship game. Gardner has scored in 22 of the Cardinal's 26 games, and has scored multiple goals in 16.
Junior two-meter defender/driver Kris Koblik was named Second-Team All-Conference after leading the Cardinal to a 18-3 victory over UOP at the MPSF Championships with a team-high four goals. She also scored two goals in the 6-4 win against Cal in the Championship game. A versatile competitor who can play both sides of the ball, Koblik is currently fifth on the team in goals with 21, and has been an essential component to the Cardinal defense which has limited the opposition to only 115 goals, half as many as Stanford has scored.
Freshman goalkeeper Jackie Frank was tabbed Second-Team All-Conference after defending the net for the Cardinal in three and a half games in the MPSF Tournament. Frank played in goal for the first two quarters and part of the third in the 14-2 win over Hawaii, and defended the net in the 9-6 win over San Diego State, the 7-6 win over top-ranked UCLA, and the 6-4 win over Cal in the Championship game. This season, Frank has played in 20 games for the Cardinal for a total of 524 minutes. She has allowed only 87 goals, and has a goals-against average of 4.65.
