Stanford's Katy Herbert Advances to Finals on Beam at the 2000 NCAA Gymnastics Championships

Boise, Idaho - Stanford sophomore Katy Herbert turned in a third-place performance on the beam with a score of 9.875 at the first day of the 2000 Women's Gymnastics NCAA Championships. Her third place showing qualifies her to compete in the event final on Saturday, April 15.

Junior Jen Exaltacion also competed in the first day of competition in the all-around, placing eighth with a score of 39.225. In session 2, she tied for 15th place on the vault with a score of 9.8, tied for 17th on the bars (9.75), finished seventh on the beam (9.85) and 22nd on the floor (9.825.)

Herbert will compete again on the balance beam on Saturday, April 15th. The Super-Six team championship includes UCLA, Nebraska, Alabama, Michigan, Utah and Georgia. The six teams will compete for the NCAA Title on Friday, April 14. Live results can be viewed by logging on to www.broncosports.com.
