Santa Cruz, Calif. - Senior Dusty Brett, who finished tied for 28th place, was Stanford's top finisher at the 54th annual Western Intercollegiate, hosted by San Jose State at Pasatiempo Golf Course April 3-4. Stanford finished tied for 12th place with the University of Pacific with a total of 874 strokes.
Brett carded rounds of 74, 74 and 70 to place him in a tie for 28th place with a total of 218 strokes. Junior Jimmy Lee finished in a tie for 59th place after posting rounds of 74, 77 and 71 for a total of 222 along with teammate Eric Dahlberg, who shot rounds of 72, 72 and 78. Junior Alex Aragon finished in a tie for 65th place with rounds of 76, 72 and 75 for a total of 223, and freshman Ron Won tied for 80th place after carding rounds of 75, 67 and 85 for a total of 234.
The Cardinal men's golf team will be back on the links April 9 for a dual meet with the University of Pacific, who tied with Stanford at the Western Intercollegiate for 12th place. The Tigers and the Cardinal will compete at the River Bend Golf Course in Ladera, Calif.
