STOCKTON, Calif. - Freshman middle blocker Curt Toppel recorded 38kills in the Cardinal's four-game victory over UOP. Stanford defeated theMPSF foe 16-14, 13-15, 15-6, 15-7 at Stockton on Saturday, April 8. TheCardinal improves to 10-10 overall, 9-8 MPSF.
Toppel also recorded three service aces along with teammate juniorsetter Josh Lukens, who also led the squad in sets with 86. Senior JoshPalacios led the team in digs with 13. Sophomore Marcus Skacel recorded 16kills, junior Brett Youngberg made 13 and Paul Bocage posted 11 killsagainst the Tigers.
The Cardinal played their best in the fourth game of thenight, when Stanford recorded a hitting percentage of .628 and took thegame 15-7 to clinch the victory.
The Stanford men's volleyball team will be back in action on April14th when the team will travel to southern California to take on MPSF foeCal State Northridge.
