Freshman middle blocker Jenn Harvey had 11 kills and a match-high eight blocks as the Stanford women's volleyball team defeated Oral Roberts 3-0 this evening in their final game at the BYU/Mizuno Classic. Game scores were 15-4, 15-6, 15-8.
The Cardinal hit .313 for the match while holding the Golden Eagles to a .072 hitting percentage. Stanford outblocked ORU 14- to five for the match as well.
In game one, the Cardinal dominated Oral Roberts, committing only two hitting errors while recording a .533 hitting percentage.
Stanford freshmen Sara Dukes and Sara McGee both made solid contributions adding seven and six kills respectively. Sophomore Ashley Ivy led the match with 10 digs on the evening. Junior Sara Sandrik added 11 kills to the Cardinal cause.
The Golden Eagles were led by Kristin Meyerson who tallied a match-high 15 kills. Anna Moreno had a team-high eight digs for ORU.
Stanford (5-2) opens the Pac-10 season next week with a road trip to Oregon. The Cardinal open with Oregon on Thursday, September 14, then take on Oregon State on Friday, September 15.
