Second-ranked Stanford Water Polo Team Defeats #10 UC Santa Barbara

Stanford, Calif. - Peter Hudnut scored a career-high four goals to lead the second-ranked Stanford water polo team to a 15-5 victory over tenth-ranked UC Santa Barbara in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game on Sunday at the Avery Aquatics Complex.

Hudnut scored two of his goals in the first period as the Cardinal jumped to a 4-0 lead. Three more goals, including one by Hudnut, gave Stanford an unsurmountable 7-1 halftime lead.

Todd Snider, who scored three goals, was one of seven Stanford players to score at least one goal.

Stanford, which has not lost to UCSB since 1985, raised its record to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the MPSF. UCSB fell to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
