STOCKTON, Calif. - Peter Hudnut and Pasi Dutton each scored two goals to lift the fifth-ranked Stanford water polo team to a 9-7 victory over eleventh-ranked Pacific in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) game on Sunday.
The Cardinal took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Onno Koelman early in the first quarter and never trailed in the game. Pacific tied the game at 1-1 and with the game tied at 4-4 in the second quarter, Peter Osborn scored with 25 seconds left in the first half.
Stanford outscored the Tigers, 3-0, in the third quarter, taking an 8-4 lead. The Tigers scored three times in the fourth quarter, but could not get closer than the final score of 9-7.
